Lambda is a leader in AI cloud infrastructure serving tens of thousands of customers globally, from AI researchers to enterprises and hyperscalers. As Data Center Site Manager, you will manage and lead a team of data center technicians at our Elk Grove Village facility, overseeing all aspects of critical infrastructure operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining high availability, reliability, and security across the data center environment; ensuring proper racking, labeling, cabling, and configuration of new server, storage, and network infrastructure; and troubleshooting hardware and software issues in advanced systems. You will document data center layout and network topology using DCIM software, work with supply chain and manufacturing teams on large-scale deployments, and assess current and future state requirements based on growth plans. Additional duties include managing parts depot inventory, creating installation standards and documentation for consistency across data centers, overseeing day-to-day operations, maintaining uptime and customer SLAs, and participating in technical discussions on data center integration strategies. You'll understand power, cooling, and cabling requirements for high-performance infrastructures and work closely with cross-functional teams including Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and Sales to align solutions with business goals. Required qualifications: 5+ years experience with critical infrastructure systems (power distribution, air flow management, environmental monitoring, capacity planning, DCIM software, structured cabling); basic Linux administration knowledge; experience setting up networking appliances (Ethernet and InfiniBand) across multiple locations; strong attention to detail; action-oriented mindset; and desire to mentor team members. Nice-to-have skills include troubleshooting knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, SNMP, SSL, HTTP, FTP, SSH, Syslog, DHCP, DNS, RDP, NETBIOS, IP routing, Ethernet, 802.11x, NFS, and VLANs; experience in large-scale distributed data center environments; audit and compliance experience (ISO/SOC); familiarity with Supermicro and Nvidia hardware; and previous data center team management experience.
