Anthropic is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Lead to drive procurement and supply chain strategies for Data Center Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) infrastructure. In this role, you will own end-to-end sourcing for critical electrical and mechanical systems including generators, switchgear, UPS systems, transformers, chillers, cooling towers, and related equipment that support Anthropic's AI infrastructure scaling.
Key responsibilities include: developing and executing commercial negotiations and Master Purchase Agreements with OEMs and distributors; auditing partner procurement schedules to optimize allocation and cost efficiency in constrained markets; implementing frameworks to ensure third-party data center partners and contractors adhere to commercial and technical specifications; developing global inventory strategies including warehousing, logistics, buffer stock, and distribution models to accelerate deployment and improve equipment availability; proactively monitoring supply chain volatility and executing contingency plans to prevent project delays; translating construction and capacity roadmaps into equipment forecasts and procurement pipelines; partnering with Finance on inventory and capital optimization; establishing efficient repair and replacement workflows with OEMs; and negotiating warranty, commissioning support, and spare parts terms while tracking vendor performance.
You will partner closely with engineering, demand planning, construction teams, and third-party contractors to drive equipment availability and establish strong vendor relationships. This is a critical role supporting Anthropic's ambitious scaling goals for AI infrastructure.
Minimum qualifications: 7+ years in supply chain management, sourcing, and procurement with a track record of forecasting and managing data center electrical and mechanical equipment for build-out and operations. Familiarity with data center equipment (generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS, batteries, chillers, cooling towers, CRAHs/CRACs, pumps, CDUs) required. Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, construction management, supply chain, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred: 10+ years supply chain experience; 5+ years in data center or critical environment infrastructure; experience with general contractors, MEP integrators, OEMs, and distributors; data center construction program experience; familiarity with liquid cooling and battery energy storage systems; strong leadership and influencing skills.
