Solace is a Series C healthcare technology company (valued at $1B+) that pairs patients with expert advocates and provides tools to help them navigate the U.S. healthcare system and make better decisions. The company is backed by top-tier VCs including Inspired Capital, Craft Ventures, and Menlo Ventures, and operates a multi-sided marketplace connecting patients with healthcare advocates.
You will serve as the analytical partner to the Operations team, driving data-informed decision-making across the business. Your core responsibilities include:
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Identify and surface bottlenecks and inefficiencies across the patient journey (intake, match, active care) and advocate workflows, proactively bringing insights to leadership without waiting for requests.
- Analyze advocate utilization, caseloads, and supply/demand dynamics to help Operations staff ahead of growth rather than reactively.
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards in Hex that provide self-serve access to critical metrics for Operations, Product, Marketing, and Finance teams.
- Partner with engineering to maintain clean, reliable data models and refine SQL and dbt transformations to support scaling.
- Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders and executives.
- Work with structured and semi-structured data (including nested JSON and healthcare operational datasets) to extract meaningful signal.
You will be working in a high-growth, mission-driven environment where data is central to operational decision-making. The role demands both technical depth and business acumen, with emphasis on impact over process.
**Requirements:**
- 3+ years of data analytics experience, with specific time spent in healthcare operations (health tech, provider, payer, or care delivery settings) where data directly informed operational decisions.
- Healthcare operations fluency: understanding of care delivery workflows including intake, scheduling, caseloads, and SLAs; knowledge of where operational data typically breaks.
- Business impact orientation: you measure success by business outcomes, lead with "so what" before methodology, and can articulate impact without prompting.
- Advanced SQL and Snowflake proficiency; ability to write efficient, complex queries against cloud data warehouses.
- Strong BI and dashboarding experience; Hex (or similar notebook-based BI tools) highly preferred; Looker, Tableau, or Metabase experience also valuable.
- Data wrangling expertise: comfort with messy, real-world data including parsing nested JSON and cleaning unstructured datasets.
- AI fluency: using AI to accelerate SQL and analysis work while maintaining judgment to validate outputs against actual data.
- Analytical mindset: ability to dig beyond surface-level data to identify root causes of business problems.
- Strong communication skills: explaining complex data concepts clearly to operators, product managers, and executives.
- Bias toward action: comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities; preference for shipping good solutions quickly over perfect solutions slowly.
**Bonus qualifications:**
- dbt and Git experience (highly preferred): ability to manage transformations, contribute to core data models, and work in version control.
- Healthcare reimbursement exposure: familiarity with claims, billing codes, or Medicare reimbursement.
- Python or R: for automation, statistical analysis, or forecasting.
- Process optimization experience: demonstrated use of data to streamline workflows and reduce manual overhead.
Applicants must be based in the United States.
