Isar Aerospace is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to serve as a technical guardian of the company's digital environment. This is a hands-on role that bridges Security Architecture and Operations, requiring someone who designs, implements, and audits security controls across the organization's technology stack.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls across endpoints, identity, cloud, networks, and applications
- Act as a technical auditor, verifying that IT and engineering team configurations meet security baselines and internal standards
- Safeguard identity and access through strong authentication, least privilege, and privileged access management
- Monitor security telemetry, investigate alerts, and coordinate incident response and remediation
- Develop and maintain secure configuration baselines and hardening standards
- Automate security checks and incident response workflows using scripting
- Produce clear technical documentation and translate security requirements into actionable runbooks for IT and engineering teams
The role requires a hands-on engineer who not only reviews security controls but actively configures and implements them. You will work across multiple security domains and serve as the technical conscience of the environment, ensuring systems and operations meet the high standards required for a space company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent through relevant certifications and hands-on experience
- 3–5+ years in Information Security or Security Engineering with hands-on ownership of security controls in production environments
- Deep hands-on experience implementing security controls in at least one domain (endpoint, identity, cloud, network, or application security)
- Solid understanding of core security domains and how they interact to defend an enterprise environment
- Ability to verify system compliance with CIS Benchmarks or internal standards
- Proficiency in log analysis and security telemetry across network, endpoint, application, and cloud logs
- Basic to intermediate scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) to automate administrative tasks and security validations
- Clear communicator who translates technical risk for different audiences and takes ownership of work
- Fluent English; German is a plus
Bonus Skills:
- Specialist depth in cloud security, endpoint and identity (Microsoft ecosystem), network security (SASE, segmentation), or application security
- Relevant certifications (OSCP, GIAC, CISSP, SC-200, AZ-500)
- Experience applying frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks, NIST, or ISO 27001
