Steno is a fast-growing legal services platform revolutionizing the litigation support industry. We're seeking an experienced Court Filing Manager to lead our California court filing operations team.
You will own the day-to-day performance, quality, and output of a team of court filing specialists working across multiple California courts and jurisdictions. Your responsibilities include managing workload distribution and prioritization, ensuring rush and VIP filings meet SLAs, and serving as the team's deepest source of California court filing expertise—from county-level nuances and mandatory cover sheets to tentative ruling procedures and local court quirks.
You will coach and develop team members through regular feedback, hands-on training, and performance conversations, turning every rejection or error into a development opportunity. You'll conduct performance evaluations, set goals and KPIs, and hold the team accountable to Steno's quality and productivity standards. Regular audits of case files, data entry, and eFiling submissions will be part of your routine to catch errors before they reach courts or clients.
You'll own formal escalation and incident reporting for complex filing issues, identifying root causes and implementing preventive fixes. You'll track rejection trends and workflow bottlenecks, building and refining SOPs and playbooks to close gaps. As the escalation buffer for leadership, you resolve issues at your level and surface only true exceptions upward.
