Maybern is a Series B fintech/productivity software company transforming private fund management through an AI-powered operating system. The company manages $15T in capital and is scaling rapidly with strong venture backing. You will be Maybern's first dedicated IT and Security operator, owning end-to-end IT operations and security compliance as the company scales toward 100+ employees. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of IT operations and security, with real input on tools, processes, and standards. IT Operations & Employee Support: You'll be the primary IT contact for all employees, owning endpoint management (MDM via Kandji or equivalent), device provisioning, asset inventory, conference room setup (Google Meet/Zoom Rooms), identity provider administration (Okta or equivalent), and new hire/offboarding workflows in partnership with People Ops. Security & Compliance: You'll own continuous SOC 2 Type II evidence collection and control monitoring, conduct quarterly access reviews, coordinate audit preparation, administer endpoint security tooling (CrowdStrike or equivalent), monitor for anomalies, coordinate annual security training, and track attestations. Customer-Facing Security: You'll maintain and improve a security response library, independently respond to vendor security questionnaires (VSQs), and own security sections of due diligence questionnaires (DDQs). SaaS & Vendor Management: You'll conduct quarterly access audits across the SaaS stack, manage license governance, monitor for shadow IT, own the vendor security review process for procurement, and identify opportunities to rationalize tooling. Ideal candidates have 6+ years of IT/security operations experience at scaling SaaS or fintech companies, hands-on SOC 2 Type II experience, working knowledge of MDM tools, identity providers, and continuous compliance platforms, extensive Mac environment experience, and the ability to communicate with engineering teams. High agency, self-directed, organized, and calm under pressure are essential. Bonus: experience as a first/early IT hire at earlier-stage companies and independent VSQ response experience.
