Graphcore is seeking a Component Engineer to join the Manufacturing and Technology Process team within Operations. In this role, you will own component selection and sourcing decisions that enable Graphcore's AI hardware products to reach manufacturing with quality built in. You will support new product introduction (NPI) and volume manufacturing across Graphcore's hardware portfolio. Your responsibilities include specifying, selecting, and sourcing components optimized for performance, reliability, quality, and yield. You will manage component data, BOM revisions, compliance checks, supply risks, and alternative sourcing routes. Your work bridges engineering requirements with supplier capability and manufacturing reality. You will collaborate across manufacturing, test, quality, supply chain, suppliers, and contract manufacturers. The team operates across Bristol, Cambridge, and Taiwan, working closely with foundry, package assembly, and PCBA subcontractors. You will also help identify enabling component technologies for next-generation products. The role suits someone who enjoys detail, electronics, and practical problem solving. You will influence decisions that protect product delivery and strengthen manufacturing resilience through clear ownership, careful data management, and direct engagement with internal and external partners. Required qualifications include strong electronics knowledge (component parameters, datasheets, selection trade-offs), in-depth BOM management and sourcing systems experience (Arena, Silicon Expert), understanding of PCB manufacturing and SMT assembly processes, ability to understand silicon-package-PCB interactions, experience with electronics supply chain suppliers (preferably offshore contract manufacturers), and strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with Excel, Power BI, or similar tools. The company values transferable skills and diverse experiences and encourages applications from candidates who meet most essential criteria.
