As Clinical Product & Operations Lead Pharmacist, you'll be the clinical anchor of customer experience—the person customers escalate to when cases get hard, and the expert product and engineering teams consult when they need to understand how the work actually happens. This is an individual contributor role for a licensed pharmacist who owns moderate-to-complex cases end-to-end and builds the workflows around them.
Your time splits between two connected responsibilities: (1) supporting customers directly on tough prior authorization and benefit verification cases, and (2) designing operational processes—internal and customer-facing—that maintain quality as the company scales.
In your first 3–6 months, you'll own customer support for complex cases, serving as the primary escalation point. You'll apply clinical judgment to navigate payer criteria, formulary requirements, and appeals. You'll document workflows, write SOPs, and turn one-off fixes into repeatable processes. You'll be the voice of the customer with product and engineering, surfacing patterns in where customers get stuck and flagging errors in AI-generated determinations. You'll work directly with engineering to improve AI agents by feeding hard cases back into the product and shaping agentic workflows.
Beyond 12 months, you'll own the operational playbook for how complex cases are handled, build and track impact metrics, become a defining voice in product evolution, design training for new pharmacists and technicians, and help shape how the pharmacy operations function scales across payers and enterprise partners.
You bring a PharmD with 3–5+ years in pharmacy operations, specialty pharmacy, or payer/PBM environments. You have strong working knowledge of PA workflows, payer criteria, formularies, and PBM structures. You're comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced startup and can explain clinical concepts clearly to non-clinical audiences. You're available to work on-site in Menlo Park at least three days per week.
Bonus experience includes building QA processes, supervising pharmacists and technicians, deep understanding of the patient access journey, and comfort using AI tools.
