Oscar Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist Supervisor to lead the Prior Authorization team within the Pharmacy Utilization Management department. This role manages a team of pharmacists performing clinical review for prior authorizations and appeals, driving operational excellence while ensuring evidence-based clinical decision-making.
Key responsibilities include overseeing daily workflows, queue monitoring, and scheduling to meet clinical accuracy standards and response timelines. You will monitor productivity and quality metrics, provide routine 1-on-1 coaching and performance reviews, and help team members build clinical skills and prepare for expansion. As a clinical expert, you'll review and resolve complex, high-priority prior authorization cases and appeals, collaborating with the Clinical Quality team on routine audits and delivering constructive coaching based on findings.
You will proactively identify and implement process improvements, partner with cross-functional leadership to develop training resources and job aids, and participate in a rotated weekend and holiday on-call schedule. The role reports to the Manager of Pharmacy Utilization Management.
Required qualifications include a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, an active unrestricted pharmacist license, 4+ years of managed care experience performing clinical review/utilization management, and 1+ year of people or project management experience. Bonus qualifications include experience managing clinical pharmacist teams, developing KPIs for operational teams, and strong clinical skills in a review setting.
The position is fully remote, open to US candidates excluding Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Wyoming, and US Territories. Occasional travel is required for team meetings and company events. Base pay ranges from $122,212–$160,404 annually (most states) or $135,792–$178,227 (CA, CT, NJ, NY, WA).
