Neko Health is building a preventative care platform that combines proprietary technology and clinical care to deliver personalized health insights in a single, non-invasive visit. The company's mission is to make data-driven preventative care accessible before symptoms appear. As Clinical Economist, you will lead Neko's data-driven approach to clinical quality assurance. You'll use statistical and econometric methods to detect quality issues that traditional physical audits miss—such as device drift, operator inconsistency, or measurement errors—by analyzing thousands of measurements across repeat patient visits. Key responsibilities include: - Own the statistical and econometric approach to clinical quality across all measurements, devices, operators, and sites. - Detect quality problems using fixed effects models, repeat measurement analysis, and natural experiments to separate real patient change from device/operator/site variation. - Own each quality problem from detection through resolution: coordinate clinical, engineering, device, and site teams to identify root causes, implement fixes, and verify outcomes. - Work with large, messy observational health data including scan measurements, repeat visits, second readings, and follow-up results. - Validate every estimate against observed outcomes and communicate confidence levels clearly. - Collaborate with engineers to move analyses from research into production systems that run continuously. - Communicate findings to clinicians, engineers, and leadership in actionable terms. - Define the scope and direction of the clinical quality system, including integration with clinical operations and required team structure. In the first 6–12 months, you will prioritize which measurements to address, build the first quality checks on priority measurements, identify and resolve real quality problems, and design the always-on quality system architecture. REQUIREMENTS: - Deep background in rigorous data work with strong statistical and econometric expertise. - Experience with health or clinical data (preferred). - Experience with measurement error, calibration, inter-rater reliability, or quality control in any setting (preferred). - Experience turning analysis into a continuously running system (preferred). - Experience with team leadership (preferred). - Ability to work painstakingly through observational data while maintaining big-picture perspective. - Comfort working alongside engineers in production environments.
