The Client Onboarding Manager owns the end-to-end onboarding experience for new customers acquired through partnerships. This is a hands-on, customer-facing implementation role that combines project management, system configuration, payroll process expertise, customer training, and cross-functional coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing a portfolio of customers from internal handoff through go-live and initial payroll stabilization, building implementation plans around first clock-in dates, payroll periods, and processing deadlines.
• Leading discovery and solution design by understanding customer workflows, translating business requirements into practical Connecteam configurations, and identifying complex requirements to match with appropriate solutions.
• Configuring integrations and account settings, managing payroll system integrations, and ensuring employee data, time tracking, PTO, and payroll rules are correctly set up and validated.
• Delivering training to clients and managers on the Connecteam platform and payroll workflows, adapting training plans to customer size and complexity while keeping sessions practical and process-focused.
• Troubleshooting issues across the full workflow, determining issue ownership, escalating payroll-impacting risks with clear documentation, and maintaining accurate account records and handoff documentation.
• Collaborating closely with partner Implementation Managers and coordinating across Sales, Support, Product, Integrations, and leadership teams.
The role requires strong project management skills to handle multiple implementations simultaneously, excellent communication and presentation abilities to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences, and tech-savviness to quickly learn software, troubleshoot issues, and understand integrations. Success demands high interpersonal awareness—the ability to read people and situations quickly while navigating complex dynamics and maintaining trust across multiple internal and external teams. Implementations are payroll-first and may extend through the first one to three payroll cycles depending on account complexity.
