Insify is a Series B insurtech and licensed insurance agent building a modern claims-handling platform for business insurance across the Netherlands, France, Germany, Ireland, and Sweden. The company is backed by investors including Accel, Munich Re Ventures, and Evli Growth Partners.
As a Claims Handler, you will process and resolve commercial liability, professional liability, and inventory/goods claims, as well as manage income protection (AOV) claim intakes and handle appeals. You will work as an authorized representative of major insurers and reinsurers, giving you direct mandate and authority from day one. You'll have direct contact with risk carriers and underwriters without intermediaries, enabling rapid decision-making and clear accountability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Intake, processing, and settlement of commercial claims (liability, inventory, goods)
- Income protection (AOV) claim intakes and appeals handling
- Liaison with experts, attorneys, and other insurers
- Direct coordination with Insify's insurance and reinsurance partners
- Customer communication, support, and advisory—including difficult conversations
- Cross-functional collaboration: sharing claim insights with product, underwriting, and other teams to improve processes
- Active participation in modernizing claims handling through automation of repetitive work, intelligent AI deployment, and enhanced fraud detection
You will work in a small, lean team reporting directly to the VP of Claims. The role emphasizes autonomy within your mandate, pragmatic problem-solving, and the opportunity to shape how claims work is organized—not just execute existing processes. Insify invests in technology and AI to eliminate routine work, freeing you to focus on cases where human judgment creates real value. You'll have input on what gets automated, what shouldn't be, and how fraud detection improves.
The company is currently bringing AOV claims handling in-house. If you have AOV experience, you'll play a key role; if you come from commercial claims and are curious about AOV, the company will train you.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of commercial claims handling experience
- AOV (income protection) claims experience is preferred; curiosity about AOV is essential
- Wft Basis certification required; Wft Schade (commercial and personal lines) is preferred
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written (English used daily with international team)
- Critical, analytical mindset with ability to make and justify decisions
- Proactive, solution-oriented, pragmatic approach; efficient and accurate execution
- Ability to identify process improvements and drive change
