Shapr3D is a multi-platform 3D design platform that has won the Apple Design Award and is featured in Apple Keynotes. The company serves industries representing 16% of global GDP, including automotive, aerospace, consumer tech, and industrial design. With Series B backing and rapid global expansion, Shapr3D is scaling its B2C and Product-Led Growth business.
As Chief Accountant, you will own the complete financial reporting, statutory compliance, and closing processes for the company. You will serve as the technical accounting anchor and trusted partner to the leadership team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance and working closely with the CFO.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and executing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes under Hungarian Accounting Standards (HAS), UK, and IFRS standards
- Preparing, reviewing, and filing all statutory reports, corporate income tax (CIT), local business tax (HIPA), VAT (including international reverse charge and OSS), and payroll-related tax returns in full compliance with Hungarian legislation
- Acting as the primary liaison for statutory external auditors, tax authorities (NAV), banking partners, and external advisors
- Managing accounting for high-volume B2C/PLG transaction streams across Stripe, Apple App Store, and Google Play, ensuring precise revenue recognition and deferred revenue tracking
- Managing the accounting and tax implications of the company's complex cap table and employee share programs (e.g., ESOP), ensuring accurate payroll integration and equity accounting treatment
- Championing continuous improvement and automation of accounting software and ERP systems to minimize human error and accelerate closing velocity
- Monitoring cash flow, banking operations, vendor payments, and intercompany transactions across the international entity setup
- Collaborating with FP&A, People/HR, Workplace, and Legal teams to ensure seamless accounting operations and proactive policy guidance

REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3+ years operating as a Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant in a fast-paced tech startup, scale-up, or international corporate environment
- Registered Chartered Accountant (Mérlegképes könyvelő) qualification in Hungary is essential; ACCA, DipIFR, or university degree in Accounting/Finance is a strong plus
- Deep hands-on mastery of Hungarian Accounting Standards (HAS/SZTV) paired with working knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
- Understanding of tech/SaaS business models, multi-currency accounting, and digital payment reconciliations (Stripe, App Stores)
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, experience with modern ERPs (NetSuite, SAP, Kulcs-Soft, Navision, or similar), and enthusiasm for leveraging AI and automation
- Fluent Hungarian (for statutory authorities and filings) and strong professional English (for internal communication and group reporting)
- Extreme ownership, uncompromising attention to detail, resilience in fast-moving environments, and a collaborative, solution-oriented approach
