You will manage a team of three remote engineers in the Capture & Harvesting function, with the team expected to grow toward ten people. This is a hands-on engineering management role where you'll remain deeply technical—reviewing system designs, resolving technical disagreements, and mentoring engineers directly rather than delegating technical decisions. You'll represent the Harvesting team's interests in cross-functional work with Content ID and product teams, weigh in on recurring in-house-versus-vendor decisions for harvesting operations across markets, and help drive the team's AI automation initiatives forward.
The role is a direct replacement for Piotr Skwirzynski, who recently stepped up to Director managing multiple teams. You're joining a system that has been live and profitable since 2018—this is not a greenfield project but an established, revenue-generating engine.
Requirements:
- Real engineering management experience leading a team of 3–10 people (not just senior IC work with a title change)
- Technical depth to review system designs, identify problems, and make independent decisions when engineers are stuck
- Ability to mentor engineers directly and handle technical conflict without it becoming a people problem
Bonus qualifications:
- Background in video, TV, or ad-tech data
- Experience with high-volume streaming or content-fingerprinting systems
- Hands-on exposure to applied AI/ML in production
- Comfort making in-house-versus-vendor build decisions across markets
Note: This role requires in-office presence in Warsaw; fully remote arrangements are not available.
