Sila Nanotechnologies is a next-generation battery materials company developing advanced lithium-ion battery materials to accelerate the global transition to clean energy. The Capital Projects Quality Manager will oversee quality management systems, procedures, and documentation for large-scale capital projects and improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing Sila's Quality Management Plan (QMP) tailored to owner requirements and industry standards such as ISO 9001; conducting systematic internal and external audits to verify adherence to established protocols and technical standards; performing on-site quality inspections and audits to verify compliance with design drawings and specifications; reviewing and validating contractor quality plans, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and material certifications; maintaining comprehensive records of inspections, test results, and quality incidents; managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and developing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA); acting as the primary point of contact for quality issues between owners, engineering teams, and construction partners; monitoring and reporting on key quality performance indicators (KPIs); and facilitating lessons-learned sessions to improve quality management processes.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field, with 7–10+ years of experience in QA roles supporting large-scale industrial or capital projects. Highly preferred certifications include ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE). The position is based in Alameda, California, with typical onsite presence required at construction sites, offices, and client locations. The role demands strong analytical skills to interpret complex technical specifications, excellent communication abilities to foster a quality-driven culture, and proactive risk management capabilities.
