Valar Atomics is redefining clean energy by making high-temperature nuclear power scalable for industry, hydrogen production, and next-generation manufacturing. The company is building advanced nuclear systems and fuel fabrication capabilities, with a pilot plant planned in Orangeville, Utah.
As a Buyer within the Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization, you will own end-to-end purchasing execution for assigned commodities and programs. Your responsibilities span from PO placement through on-time, on-quality, on-cost material delivery, with direct partnership across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and Finance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning purchasing and ordering execution for assigned commodities/programs, including creation and tracking of Purchase Orders, Transfer Orders, and Returns
- Proactively identifying, communicating, and mitigating risks and delays in open POs
- Driving on-time, on-quality, and on-cost PO placement, tracking, and delivery
- Partnering with Engineering, Quality, and Supplier Quality to ensure compliance with nuclear industry regulatory requirements (10 CFR 830) and maintaining accurate purchasing records
- Building and managing strong supplier relationships, managing expedites, schedule adjustments, and engineering changes
- Resolving discrepancies in goods receipts and invoices to ensure timely supplier payment
- Contributing to supply chain goals, processes, procedures, and KPIs; supporting ERP/MRP system selection and implementation
- Ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, import/export laws, and certifications
