OpenAI's Business Marketing team is seeking a Business Operations Manager to support the Strategy & Operations function. This role sits at the intersection of marketing operations and financial management, responsible for translating complex marketing budgets into actionable day-to-day decisions. You will own the operating rhythm for budget administration across a global, matrixed marketing organization. Key responsibilities include maintaining a trusted view of allocations, purchase orders, contracts, actuals, forecasts, and risks; reconciling inputs across different marketing functions, regions, and shared services; and surfacing tradeoffs for leadership and Strategic Finance. Day-to-day work involves budget administration across allocations, forecasts, commitments, purchase requests, invoices, accruals, and reconciliation. You'll partner with Business Marketing leadership and Strategic Finance to operationalize allocation decisions and prepare scenarios. Working side-by-side with marketing leaders across campaigns, events, agencies, contractors, and regions, you'll plan, pace, track, and manage spend. You'll manage the purchasing and contract lifecycle with Procurement, Finance, Legal, agencies, contractors, and vendors. A critical part of this role is building models, dashboards, and analyses that connect investments to business goals, helping leaders decide what to fund, reduce, defer, or escalate. You'll partner with Data Science and Analytics to improve how Business Marketing understands ROI and the relationship between spend and outcomes. The role emphasizes an AI-native builder mindset—identifying repetitive tasks and building tools and workflows that reduce friction and make information more timely and intuitive. This is not a back-office operations role. You'll be embedded in the business, understanding what teams are trying to achieve and helping them move faster with confidence. The role requires strong communication skills to build trust with marketers and finance partners and create alignment across different functions without formal authority.
