SpAItial is building Physically-grounded World Models, an AI paradigm that generates and reasons about the appearance and physics of real and imagined environments. The company is moving beyond 2D pixels to create models that natively understand world geometry, with applications across robotics, AR/VR, gaming, and cinema.
As Business Operations Manager, you will own the recurring operations backbone of the company, working directly with the COO. This is a hands-on, high-trust role with unusual visibility into how a frontier AI company operates.
Key responsibilities include: managing the monthly finance cycle with accountants (reconciliations, management accounts, expenses, invoicing) and keeping cash, burn, runway, and budget current and trustworthy; owning people operations including payroll, onboarding, contracts, benefits, and employee documentation to ensure excellent new-joiner experiences; coordinating with payroll providers, pension, healthcare, banks, insurers, and legal counsel to maintain compliance across filings, VAT, statutory obligations, and insurance; managing vendor relationships, contracts, and renewals including significant compute and infrastructure commitments; overseeing the London office as a workplace people want to be in, including space, equipment, and team events; transforming founder-led manual workflows into documented processes that run autonomously; and preparing inputs for board materials, investor updates, and reporting packs while coordinating with German colleagues and suppliers.
You should be diligent with exceptional attention to detail—someone who keeps lists, schedules recurring tasks proactively, and notices deadline collisions before they become problems. The ideal candidate finds satisfaction in well-run cadences and clean systems.
Required: 4+ years in operations, business operations, finance operations, or similar roles in startups or fast-moving tech companies. At least one role held long enough to live with and fix the systems you built. Exceptional diligence and organizational discipline. Numeracy and spreadsheet comfort with good judgment on data validation. Daily use of AI tools and reaching for them first when work repeats.
Nice to have: ops experience at companies of 15–60 people; exposure to venture-backed operations (fundraising, board reporting, cap table); multi-entity, multi-currency, or multi-employment-system experience (UK/Germany); familiarity with Xero, payroll platforms, HRIS (Personio, Bob), expense tools, Carta, Notion, or Google Workspace; genuine interest in AI, ML, computer vision, 3D technology, or deep tech.
