Rocket Lab is seeking a Business Operations Manager to support its Space Systems division in Littleton, CO. This role works directly with senior leadership to drive closure on key business, operations, staffing, and technology initiatives within Space Systems Software and the Denver site.
The Business Operations Manager will be responsible for managing daily operations to ensure staff can operate effectively, collaborating with leadership to develop strategic plans aligned with company objectives, and using KPIs to drive strategy and execution excellence. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing organization-level processes related to software technology, IT, business, staffing, hiring, project management, contracts, facilities, and security. The role also involves managing financial performance, generating creative solutions to high-impact problems, constructing organization-level communications, and maintaining collaborative relationships with shared services and other business units.
This position requires a strategic thinker and creative problem solver with strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate emotional intelligence, operate with confidence in difficult situations, and serve as a role model for dedication to the company mission. Experience with AI tools for operational excellence is expected, and the role operates within a fast-paced, agile software organization.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, technology, engineering, or related field; 5+ years of experience in technology and/or business; 2+ years in a leadership role; experience in a software, technology, or engineering business; and understanding of agile methodologies. Nice-to-have qualifications include an advanced degree, experience with Jira/Confluence, Excel proficiency, aerospace experience, staff management and compensation experience, P&L management, technology integration, IT project management, and AI tool development experience.
