Salary: USD 130,000 - 160,000 / annual
Zaya Care is a venture-backed healthtech startup building infrastructure for independent specialty medical practices. The company enables practices to focus on patient care while Zaya handles operations, compliance, and administrative functions. As Business Operations Lead, you'll serve as the operational backbone of the company, managing a broad portfolio spanning finance, HR, legal/compliance, and special projects.
Key responsibilities include: overseeing finance operations and practice payouts; managing tax, compliance, and multi-state regulatory requirements; supporting leadership with recurring financial reporting and KPI tracking; identifying operational bottlenecks and building scalable processes; leading special projects including healthcare operations expansion into new states; owning complex cross-functional issues as an escalation point; conducting data analysis to surface business insights; managing all hiring logistics and candidate pipeline coordination; running employee onboarding and offboarding; supporting culture initiatives and employee experience; maintaining HR policies and employee handbook; and managing IT and vendor operations.
You'll work closely with leadership across the company and be expected to operate with significant autonomy. The role requires comfort moving between financial modeling, spreadsheet work, and sensitive people conversations daily. You'll handle confidential HR, financial, and compliance information with discretion.
Required qualifications: 5+ years in high-performance environments (investment banking, management consulting, public tech, or venture-backed startups); at least 1 year in US healthcare industry; exceptional organizational and detail-oriented skills; strong financial acumen including modeling, reporting, and KPI dashboards; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently with minimal direction; US work authorization with strong preference for New York-based candidates.
Compensation: $130–$160K salary plus equity. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, remote-first with in-person meetups, unlimited PTO, and company-wide winter holiday week. Early-stage impact opportunity at Seed stage.
