Fuse is building a fusion energy company with a mission to accelerate the world's transition to fusion energy. This Business Operations role reports directly to the CEO and executive team, taking on high-priority projects that shift with company needs—from events and facilities management to university recruiting, communications, customer initiatives, investor preparation, supply chain, and emerging challenges.
The role is fundamentally about understanding what matters most, organizing it, and ensuring execution. You'll move fast without a fixed playbook, figure out what needs to happen, and make it happen. Work is cross-functional, requiring you to build context quickly on unfamiliar problems and bring structure to ambiguous, high-stakes initiatives.
Key responsibilities include: taking on high-priority projects directly from leadership; moving fast in unstructured environments; working cross-functionally across the company; and bringing follow-through to complex initiatives.
You should demonstrate the ability to move fast and figure things out without a template, operate with low ego and high accountability, take responsibility for outcomes, and communicate clearly. Preferred experience includes a track record of high-level competitive commitment (athletics or equivalent) showing discipline and performance under pressure, and exposure to fast-paced, ambiguous environments like startups or high-stakes programs.
This is an in-office role requiring relocation to San Leandro if not local. The position occasionally requires extended hours and weekends, and may involve travel to other Fuse facilities. ITAR compliance required: must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required State Department authorizations.
