Motorway is the UK's fastest-growing used car marketplace, connecting private sellers with verified dealers nationwide. Founded in 2017 and backed by leading technology investors (£143M Series C), the company is scaling rapidly and seeking a Business Operations Associate to drive operational and commercial improvements across the dealer journey. This is a dynamic, broad-scoped role focused exclusively on the B2B/dealer side of the marketplace. You will combine analytical thinking with practical execution, identifying opportunities through data and observation, developing hypotheses, and driving cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes. Key responsibilities include enhancing the dealer post-sale experience (particularly Motorway Move transport and Motorway Pay payment products), identifying friction points to boost platform stickiness and reduce cancellation rates, and spearheading AI and automation initiatives to streamline workflows. You will lead cross-functional projects from idea through implementation, partnering with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and external partners. The role requires data-driven analysis of operational, financial, and product metrics to diagnose problems and uncover retention and efficiency opportunities. You will define success metrics, develop business cases, and translate complex operational problems into actionable plans for leadership. The ideal candidate demonstrates high agency and problem-solving ability, thriving in ambiguous environments with wide span of control. You should have strong B2B/dealer empathy, a strategic and analytical mindset, and a proven track record of driving cross-functional initiatives in fast-moving environments. Clear, structured communication skills are essential for simplifying complex topics for leadership and stakeholders. You are tech-forward and AI-curious, eager to experiment with emerging tools to automate workflows and improve productivity. You operate with high ownership, pace, and adaptability, and are a comfortable collaborator across teams.
