Mach9 Robotics is building AI-assisted CAD software for civil engineering and surveying, helping infrastructure professionals create blueprint drawings in a fraction of the time. The company is backed by Y Combinator, Quiet Capital, and notable founders including Kyle Vogt (Cruise), Amar Hanspal (former Autodesk CEO), and Scott Belsky (Adobe CPO). You will join as one of two Business Operations Associates, reporting to the Head of Business Operations and Finance. This is a hands-on role where you'll own critical operating processes across the company and drive meaningful improvements to how Mach9 scales. Key responsibilities: - Run recurring operating processes including order forms, quote-to-cash, billing, accounts receivable, variable compensation, customer setup, and customer operations - Build and maintain reporting, dashboards, OKRs, and analysis to inform company decision-making - Take ambiguous operating problems, diagnose root causes, and drive solutions through execution - Systematize solutions into documented workflows, processes, and controls - Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or eliminate inefficient manual work - Provide cross-functional project management and problem-solving support You are a generalist who thrives in ambiguity, thinks analytically, and has a strong bias toward action. You're comfortable doing work by hand to understand it deeply, then deciding what should be systematized or automated. You dream in spreadsheets and justify decisions with data. This role offers unusually broad exposure to how a fast-growing venture-backed company operates, with the opportunity to build and improve meaningful parts of the business. REQUIREMENTS: - 3+ years of work experience in business operations, consulting, finance, strategy, or another highly analytical and execution-oriented environment - Bachelor's degree, ideally in a quantitative field (statistics, finance, economics, engineering, computer science, mathematics, or STEM/analytical discipline) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to use data to understand ambiguous problems and form a point of view - Strong bias toward action and ownership; you ensure things get done rather than waiting for perfect playbooks - Curiosity about AI and new tools, with an instinct to experiment with automation and productivity improvements
