Decagon is a conversational AI platform enabling enterprises to deploy AI agents for customer support and operations across voice, chat, email, SMS, and other channels. You will join the Founder's Office data and analytics team, a high-visibility group working across the entire business with direct access to leadership. The team focuses on optimizing operations and strategy around company growth, partnerships, pricing, and cost optimization.
In this role, you will build data infrastructure from the ground up to enable informed strategic decision-making. You will work primarily in Python and SQL across multiple databases, parsing complex Engineering and AI logs to construct trustworthy datasets that support intuitive, confident decision-making.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with engineering to instrument new product surfaces and ensure clean, reliable event and usage data
- Translate ambiguous business scenarios into measurable data problems spanning Growth, GTM, Pricing, Deals Desk, Strategic Finance, and Product
- Continuously improve data infrastructure as the company and data volumes scale
You will be an end-to-end technologist with ownership mentality—your work spans from data pipelines through engineering integration to translating outputs into key findings for leadership. The role requires flexibility to read codebases, optimize databases, and communicate insights to executives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of data experience in early-stage or high-growth environments, ideally on a lean data team
- Expert proficiency in SQL and BI tools (Hex, Looker, or similar)
- Experience building tables and databases from scratch
- "Do what it takes" mentality and end-to-end ownership approach
- Ability to flex between engineering and business contexts
PREFERRED:
- Experience with Clickhouse and CDC (Change Data Capture)
- Custom data connectors and webhooks built
- Database and query performance optimization
