Oyster is a global employment platform enabling companies to hire, pay, and manage talent across 180+ countries without establishing local entities. The company handles contracts, payroll, benefits, and compliance for 2,500+ customers and operates as a fully distributed team across 60+ countries.
As Business Manager for the GTM organization, you will partner closely with the Chief Revenue Officer and the VPs of Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and RevOps to translate company strategy into disciplined, connected execution. You will own the operating rhythm of the GTM function and drive alignment across teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Translating company strategy into a GTM plan (OKRs and key initiatives) and running regular cadences to track progress, sharpen priorities, and drive accountability across Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and RevOps.
- Designing and running the GTM operating rhythm—leadership meetings, business reviews, planning cycles, and quarterly business reviews—ensuring decisions are made and executed on time.
- Identifying and designing cross-functional initiatives critical to the GTM plan, bringing structure to ambiguous problems and knowing when to escalate versus solve independently.
- Owning select high-stakes cross-functional initiatives end-to-end: scoping, resourcing, running, and reporting on outcomes without requiring a large team.
- Diagnosing friction between teams—broken handoffs, misaligned priorities, duplicated work—and brokering fast, pragmatic resolutions.
- Serving as trusted advisor to GTM leadership, spotting operational gaps and risks early and working with relevant VPs to close them.
- Owning strategic internal communication for the GTM org, translating leadership priorities into clear messaging and building feedback loops so leadership understands what's happening on the ground.
- Representing GTM's needs with Product, Engineering, Finance, Customer Experience, and People teams, flagging cross-org dependencies early and helping resolve trade-offs before they become blockers.
Success in the first year means the GTM leadership cadence runs tightly with executed decisions, at least one significant cross-functional growth project is delivered with clear results, the org has consistent trusted communication on priorities, a visible cross-team silo or bottleneck is removed, and GTM leadership and the CRO agree the org moves faster with you in it.
Oyster is fully distributed with no physical headquarters. The company offers 40 days of paid time off annually, mental health support via Plumm, a monthly wellbeing allowance, flexible parental leave (minimum three months paid), and a work-from-home stipend.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5–8 years of experience in business operations, chief of staff, strategy consulting, or similar cross-functional operating role, with direct experience working within a GTM organization (Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and RevOps).
- Experience working in or closely with tech-focused go-to-market teams; comfortable with GTM terminology, metrics, and how a revenue organization operates.
- Strategy consulting background or similarly rigorous analytical training is a strong plus.
- Track record of operating credibly with senior leaders—able to challenge, influence, and align VP- and C-level stakeholders without formal authority.
- Strong program and project management skills; ability to run multiple complex, ambiguous initiatives simultaneously and deliver.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate complexity into clear, honest narratives for different audiences.
- Structured, data-informed approach to problem-solving paired with judgment to know when a problem doesn't need a framework.
- Comfort with ambiguity, pace, and realities of a scaling, fully distributed company.
- Drive to get things done and make big impact, whether rolling up sleeves or working alongside others.
