The Business Compliance Manager role sits within the Compliance team, which blends regulatory expertise with data-driven thinking to ensure products meet legal and policy requirements. This is a first-line-of-defense position supporting department heads on compliance requirements and controls.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing compliance domain expertise to the first line of defense (1LoD) and offering solutions to compliance problem statements
- Acting as an effective stakeholder between 1LoD and second-line-of-defense (2LoD) compliance teams
- Steering retail payment products through the complex regulatory landscape
- Ensuring every product launch is smooth, compliant, and ahead of regulatory curves
- Identifying potential compliance risks in retail payment offerings
- Creating innovative strategies to stay ahead of regulatory challenges
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deploy compliance policies that meet legal requirements and drive business growth
- Empowering product teams with knowledge and tools to make compliance seamless in the innovation process
- Serving as the go-to expert and liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring products perform well in audits
This role requires balancing regulatory expertise with business acumen in a fast-moving digital environment, managing multiple stakeholders and product launches simultaneously.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance
- Solid track record of outstanding achievement in different compliance areas
- Experience in a top-tier bank, strategy consultancy, or fast-growing technology company
- Excellent understanding of how compliance risk and business risk interact
- Highly adaptable skills to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines
Nice to have:
