Perk (formerly TravelPerk) is rebuilding its Customer Care function around automation and AI. As a Business Automation Specialist, you'll design and deploy systems that eliminate manual work, accelerate agent productivity, and improve customer experience. You'll work across Make.com, Airtable, Zendesk, Claude, APIs, and custom tooling to turn operational problems into production-ready solutions. Your work spans workflow automation, multi-system integrations, and AI-powered tools with proper evaluation, guardrails, and safety mechanisms. You own projects end-to-end: from initial design through testing, deployment, and ongoing reliability. Key responsibilities include designing and building automations that remove genuine manual effort (not just shift it), wiring multi-system integrations, standing up proper testing and validation environments, and translating business problems into technical designs. You'll monitor production systems, debug under pressure, and iterate based on adoption and performance data. You'll also raise the bar by reviewing builds before launch, creating reusable patterns and standards, and advising teammates on architecture and AI safety. You'll partner closely with Operational Excellence, Customer Care Leadership, and Operations teams. Success is measured by meaningful reductions in manual work, reliable multi-system builds, high adoption, and clear gains in operational and customer experience. Required experience includes shipped production automations on Make.com, Zapier, Claude, or similar platforms (not demos); hands-on work with Airtable or comparable systems as an operational backbone; building LLM-powered workflows with prompt engineering, evaluation, and guardrails; strong debugging skills under time pressure; ability to translate fuzzy business requests into scalable solutions; and comfort working with both technical and operational partners. You prefer speed and ambiguity over perfect specifications. Perk is a global travel and spend management platform trusted by 12,000+ companies including On Running, Breitling, and Fabletics. Founded in 2015, the company has 1,800+ employees across 12 offices with headquarters in London and Boston.
