Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a BOM Sourcing Engineer to drive strategic supply chain development and cost management for their Intelligence Systems & Space programs. Key responsibilities include: conducting deep dives into engineering BOMs to ensure parts can be sourced at target costs; selecting and onboarding suppliers while leveraging an approved vendor list; driving on-time delivery through innovative solutions that break traditional space industry lead-time constraints; partnering with strategic suppliers on concept scoping, design trade-offs, should-cost modeling, and joint development activities; developing and consolidating manufacturing BOMs with cross-functional teams; managing total program costs through NPI and mass production phases; conducting value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility; completing BOM risk assessments with alternate component sourcing; ensuring component qualifications ahead of production; optimizing commonality and rationalizing components/suppliers; leading cost engineering activities to align bottom-up cost curves with product targets; and managing ad-hoc cost issues including tariffs, import/export costs, and inflation. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field; 5+ years in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement/development, or design of electronics/mechanical devices; domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO work at component and product levels; active U.S. Secret or TS clearance with ability to maintain it; ability to travel 10-40% as needed; willingness to relocate to Costa Mesa if not already local. Preferred qualifications include Master's degree, deeper experience in electronics/mechanical design, advanced sourcing activities, supplier development, early supplier engagement, familiarity with high-mix low-volume environments, startup experience, direct space industry experience, and commercial subcontract negotiation/management.
