Lendbuzz is building innovative financial technologies to provide underserved borrowers with better access to credit. We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our Tel Aviv R&D location and help expand our backend systems and core product offerings.
In this role, you will:
- Build backend systems from the ground up, designing scalable architectures for new products
- Collaborate with the engineering team on system design and technical strategy
- Develop internal products and integrate with external APIs
- Contribute to building, testing, and releasing products that serve thousands of customers
- Leverage AI coding assistants to enhance productivity while maintaining strict code quality, security, and critical review standards
You'll play a crucial role in driving the technical direction of a high-growth fintech company. The engineering team actively embraces modern development practices and agentic AI tools to accelerate coding and focus on solving complex architectural challenges.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (top-tier university degree with GPA 85+ or honors graduation is a strong plus)
- 3+ years of hands-on backend development experience
- Strong programming skills with expertise in Python
- Deep understanding and proven experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent)
- Experience designing and integrating with APIs (RESTful services)
- Knowledge of testing methodologies
- Tech-savvy and adaptable; experience or strong desire to incorporate AI dev tools into daily workflow, combined with critical thinking to review and validate AI-generated code
- Independent, proactive, with great interpersonal skills
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Previous experience in fintech, billing, or payment systems
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Familiarity with AWS
