Join Sportradar's Blue Team, a backend engineering group building core betting platform infrastructure. You'll work with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and event-driven architecture to develop high-performance, scalable systems processing millions of transactions for betting clients worldwide. In this role, you will implement domain logic and system definitions, collaborating with product teams to provide technical feedback and shape requirements. You'll build reliable, maintainable solutions that minimize bugs and reduce operational overhead. The team values continuous learning—whether deepening domain expertise, mastering current technologies, or exploring new tools and approaches. You're expected to actively suggest improvements during planning sessions, retrospectives, and code reviews. REQUIREMENTS: - Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot (REST APIs, configuration, security basics) - Solid understanding of object-oriented design, clean code, and SOLID design principles - Production experience building and maintaining backend services - Proficiency with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB) - Experience designing schemas, writing efficient queries, and indexing - Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows (code reviews, pull requests) - Knowledge of messaging and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar) - Practical Docker experience (building images, local development, containerized services) - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices - Experience writing unit and integration tests - Ability to work independently and take ownership of features from design to production - Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail - Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders - Comfortable in Agile/Scrum environments - Proactive attitude and continuous learning mindset NICE TO HAVE: - Kubernetes exposure (deployment concepts, Helm, scaling, troubleshooting) - Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) - Architectural and technical decision-making experience - Ability to design scalable, maintainable systems - Mentoring experience with less experienced engineers (especially for Senior roles) - Practical experience with AI tools for software development - Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability
