OpenAI's Communications team is responsible for helping people understand the company's technology, mission, and the impact of AI when deployed safely and responsibly. The EMEA B2B Communications team is small, fast-moving, and highly cross-functional, supporting key external audiences including enterprises, founders, developers, technical communities, journalists, creators, and policymakers. The B2B Comms Lead, EMEA will report to the Head of B2B Comms, EMEA and serve as a senior member of the regional communications team. This is a strategic, hands-on role focused on building awareness, understanding, and trust with business audiences by demonstrating how organizations across the region are using OpenAI to transform operations, serve customers, and create value. Key responsibilities include: - Developing and executing EMEA B2B communications strategy, translating global priorities into focused regional programs with clear audiences, narratives, and measurable outcomes - Leading integrated campaigns across earned and owned channels that build understanding of OpenAI's technology and demonstrate business value - Building a pipeline of customer, partner, and ecosystem stories showing tangible impact across markets and priority industries - Shaping regional narratives and messaging, translating complex technology into compelling stories for business audiences - Leading communications for launches, executive moments, and major events across EMEA with strong regional coordination - Building and maintaining relationships with leading business, technology, and trade media, as well as influential creators and commentators - Advising and preparing senior spokespeople for media, speaking, and stakeholder opportunities - Partnering with country communications leads and global teams to ensure EMEA perspectives inform global strategy - Identifying emerging opportunities and reputational risks, providing sound counsel and rapid response - Managing agency partners, budgets, and operating rhythms with high standards for strategic thinking and execution - Leading and developing team members, fostering an ambitious, collaborative, and flexible culture International travel is required for this role. Requirements: - Substantial senior communications experience in-house or at an agency, with strong track record in B2B technology, enterprise, advertising, and business communications - Experience leading regional or international communications programs within global organizations and complex operating environments - Excellent media relations instincts and established relationships with business and technology journalists across the UK, Europe, and MENA - Exceptional writing and editing skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accurate, and engaging business narratives - Proven record of developing proactive campaigns and customer stories that deliver measurable communications and business impact - Strong executive counsel and issues-management judgment; ability to operate calmly and make good decisions at pace - Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with GTM, marketing, product, legal, global affairs, and local market teams - Experience managing agency partners, budgets, and teams with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing demands - Deep curiosity about AI and its impact on businesses and society; familiarity with enterprise software, emerging technology, or the AI landscape is a plus - Highly collaborative, pragmatic, and hands-on approach with confidence to lead strategically and step into execution when needed
