Megazone Cloud US, an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner, is seeking a Cloud Architect to lead governance and FinOps for a major automotive enterprise client managing ~155 cloud accounts across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. This role is embedded within a 22-person dedicated team and works in close alignment with Megazone HQ governance in Seoul.
You will own two equally important domains: governance (50%) and FinOps (50%). On the governance side, you will establish compliance standards and measurement frameworks with client business units and HQ, operationalize tagging standards and account hygiene, ensure policy compliance, manage exceptions, and conduct periodic governance reviews. You will align US governance with Megazone HQ ICT Governance to maintain a single standard across regions.
On the FinOps side, you will own cost allocation, showback and chargeback models, build monthly bills for each business unit, explain cost variances, and drive savings initiatives including rightsizing, commitment coverage optimization (Savings Plans, Reserved Instances), and waste elimination. You will produce and present monthly and quarterly governance and cost reporting packs to senior stakeholders, with accountability for evidence-backed reporting.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the April 2027 Irvine IDC cutover from governance and cost-model perspectives, and maintaining frequent alignment calls with HQ governance in Korea (KST is 16 hours ahead of Pacific), with predictable workload peaks during month-end and quarter-end cycles.
The role is onsite at the client site in Irvine, CA, with core hours during standard US Pacific business hours. Work is delivered through documented ITIL-style processes including tickets, change control, runbooks, and post-incident reviews.
REQUIREMENTS (Must-Have):
- 7+ years in cloud infrastructure or cloud financial management, including 3+ years owning governance, standards, or FinOps on AWS at enterprise scale
- Hands-on expertise with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, Config, SCPs, tagging strategy, and policy-as-code approaches
- Deep FinOps knowledge: Cost Explorer, CUR data, chargeback and showback models, commitment planning, and reporting for non-technical business owners
- Ability to produce and defend reporting to senior stakeholders with evidence-backed metrics
- Professional working fluency in Korean and English
- Ability to work onsite in Irvine, CA (contractual commitment, not remote)
- Authorization to work in the US (sponsorship to be confirmed); ability to pass client background screening and work within SOC 2 control environment
