BillionToOne is a publicly traded molecular diagnostics company transforming healthcare through precision medicine. The company has built category-defining products in prenatal and cancer diagnostics, with over half a million patients already benefiting from their QCT molecular counting technology.
You will join the Service Engineering team supporting clinical patient testing at the Menlo Park oncology CLIA lab. This is an onsite role with shift hours Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday, 2:30pm-11pm, plus a 30% PM shift differential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide primary service response and support to laboratory operations
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain laboratory automation equipment
- Execute routine maintenance and coordinate equipment service activities
- Perform Installation, Operational, and Performance Qualification on equipment
- Triage equipment issues and coordinate with vendors as needed
- Draft documentation related to equipment operation and maintenance
- Suggest and execute process improvements
- Maintain organized parts inventory and comprehensive equipment records
- Execute special projects as assigned
You will work as part of a team responsible for ensuring reliable operation of automated laboratory processes and instrumentation in a regulated clinical environment.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in a scientific discipline (required)
- For Associate II level: 1+ years of experience servicing liquid handlers, OR 2+ years in a technical service role
- Familiarity with basics of a coding language and flow control logic
- Understanding of clinical laboratory assays and their applications
- Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems with minimal direction
- Strong willingness to learn in a complex laboratory environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent documentation skills with working knowledge of Good Document Practices (GDP)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Nice-to-haves: Experience troubleshooting liquid handler scripts, programming/coding experience, CLIA regulated environment experience, experience developing training programs, strong teamwork and relationship-building abilities, high initiative and self-motivation.
