As Audit Methodology Lead, you will own how audit methodology is implemented and evolved within Basis's platform. You'll ensure that AI agent outputs reflect professional audit standards and meet the expectations of national accounting firms. This is a cross-functional role that bridges product, ML, and domain expertise.
Key responsibilities:
- Own audit methodology implementation within Basis, ensuring agents produce work that meets professional standards and firm expectations
- Partner with major accounting firms as they adopt the platform, continuously improving their experience
- Collaborate with product and ML teams on agent capabilities and behavior, shaping what agents can handle next
- Represent Basis to national offices and quality leaders, leading conversations about how agents perform audit work
- Drive methodology updates when professional standards change, translating them into platform changes
- Communicate methodology to demanding audiences including practitioners, leadership, and peer reviewers
This role sits at the intersection of audit practice, product strategy, and AI capability—working on some of the most consequential problems in the profession right now.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years in audit, including substantial experience running engagements end-to-end at a large firm
- Experience in a national office, professional practice, or methodology group—the person firms call when the answer must be right
- Proven track record building firm methodology into usable assets: manuals, templates, practice aids, audit platform content
- Experience translating new standards into practical tools and guidance for engagement teams
- Strong communication skills: training practitioners, briefing leadership, defending approaches in peer review or inspection
- CPA license (required)
PREFERRED:
- Experience working with technology teams to embed methodology into audit tools (content, logic, diagnostics)
- Implementation experience rolling out methodology, platforms, or standards across a practice
- Strategic thinking: comfortable diving deep on technical details while shaping product direction
- Grounded in current audit practices but forward-thinking about AI's impact on the profession
