Convene Hospitality Group is seeking an Audio Visual Technology Manager to lead technical operations at their Brookfield Place location in Manhattan. This role sits at the intersection of hospitality, live events, and AV technology, overseeing the seamless delivery of world-class events and experiences.
You will manage all audio, video, lighting, networking, and conferencing technology services that support Convene's premium meeting and event spaces. Your responsibilities span operations management, team leadership, and financial oversight.
Operations Management: You'll provide troubleshooting and technical support to clients of all competency levels, manage AV equipment and systems, coordinate with clients pre-event to ensure all technology requirements are met, and deliver consultative support to the sales team. You'll direct day-to-day floor operations including setup, strike, and scheduling of AV Specialists. You'll develop weekly execution schedules, maintain client relationships, prepare revenue-optimizing sales quotes, and ensure adherence to booking guidelines and SOPs.
Team Leadership & Development: You'll oversee AV Specialists, mentor staff on customer service and technical skills, participate in hiring and employee appraisals, and foster a positive team culture focused on employee engagement and professional development. You'll stay current on industry trends and event technology developments.
Financial Responsibility: You'll track labor hours and costs, review P&L and General Ledger reports for accuracy, approve and submit vendor invoices, and contribute to monthly and quarterly operations reports in collaboration with the location General Manager.
