Salary: USD 93,600 - 177,800 / annual
Boston Scientific's Active Implantable Systems (AIS) R&D organization is establishing a dedicated AI Transformation Office to integrate AI-enabled tools, platforms, and workflows into its regulated product development lifecycle. This Associate Project Manager role sits at the center of a small, fast-moving core team driving this transformation initiative.
You will own end-to-end program schedule management, governance cadence, and cross-functional coordination across multiple workstreams spanning AI architecture, solution delivery, data engineering, and change enablement. Working alongside senior technical leaders, IT, Quality, Regulatory, and external technology partners, you'll translate program objectives into executable plans, drive deliverables and accountability, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure progress against key milestones.
Key responsibilities include: driving program schedules and tracking risks/dependencies; collaborating with cross-functional teams to align priorities and solve problems; establishing clear ownership and tracking deliverables to closure; managing scope, schedule, budget, and resources; identifying and mitigating cross-functional dependencies; proactively identifying risks and escalating when program objectives are at risk; fostering accountability without direct authority; facilitating effective project meetings; maintaining visibility through dashboards and tracking tools; and communicating project status, risks, and decisions to stakeholders and leadership.
Required: Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years in project management, product development, engineering, or related field; demonstrated experience developing and managing project timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and deliverables; experience in Agile/Scrum environments and multi-workstream program governance; strong organizational and problem-solving skills managing multiple interdependent priorities; ability to build relationships, influence without authority, and drive accountability; strong written and verbal communication.
Preferred: experience managing AI, ML, or software platform transformation programs; background in regulated or compliance-driven industries (medical device experience highly valued); familiarity with PLCP, Design Controls, and medical device quality systems; PMP certification or formal project management training; fluency with modern collaboration and AI-assisted tools (Jira, Confluence, Slack, Claude, etc.); change management methodology experience (ADKAR/Prosci).
This is a hands-on role requiring strong program discipline, judgment managing risk and ambiguity in a first-of-its-kind initiative, and comfort with modern collaboration and AI-assisted productivity tools. On-site work model requires presence in the local office at least four days per week. No visa sponsorship or relocation assistance available.
