Voyager Technologies is seeking an Associate Program Manager with a strong engineering background to support and lead the execution of complex embedded systems programs for defense and space applications. This role bridges engineering and program management, ideal for a hands-on technical professional who can work closely with engineering teams, drive cross-functional execution, and ensure programs meet cost, schedule, technical, contractual, compliance, and customer commitments.
The Associate Program Manager will support senior Program Managers on larger or more complex programs and/or take ownership of smaller programs, projects, or work packages with appropriate guidance. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing program execution, tracking deliverables, identifying risks, driving actions to closure, and supporting customer and leadership communications.
Key responsibilities include: supporting planning, execution, and delivery of embedded systems programs for defense and space customers; managing program performance across cost, schedule, technical scope, risk, quality, and customer satisfaction; working closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and track progress; developing and maintaining integrated program plans, schedules, risk registers, and status reports; driving cross-functional follow-up across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, contracts, finance, and business development; identifying program risks and blockers while supporting mitigation planning; operating effectively in ambiguous environments with incomplete information; supporting recovery efforts for challenged programs; assisting with contract review, proposal inputs, and customer communications; ensuring alignment with prime contract requirements, subcontractor flow-downs, and compliance obligations including DFARS and ITAR; preparing program status updates and leadership briefing materials; supporting customer meetings and executive reviews; tracking cost/schedule performance and Earned Value Management; and driving a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline; 5+ years of experience in engineering, systems engineering, or related roles supporting complex technical programs; experience working on complex technical programs involving high-reliability embedded hardware, embedded systems, avionics, electronics, hardware/software integration, or similar mission-critical products; and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
