Aspect Biosystems is seeking an Associate, Process Development (Cells) to join the process development team focused on developing bioprinted tissue therapeutics for cell therapy applications. This role supports the production, qualification, and scale-up of multiple cell lines to advance bioprinted tissue therapeutics (BTT) for regenerative medicine. Key responsibilities include independently managing all stages of cell culture processing—thawing, expansion, media changes, aggregation, cryopreservation, and banking. You will assess and interpret in vitro viability and functional assays for cell characterization, and optimize therapeutic cell processing for scale-up. The role involves developing release Certificates of Analysis (CoA) for internal cell lines, completing IQ/OQ/PQ validation of new equipment, and supporting non-GMP technology transfer of culture processes in compliance with regulatory requirements. You will perform data collection and analysis to drive cell culture process improvements, prepare reagents and buffers, and maintain inventory. Cross-functional collaboration with R&D, CMC, quality, and regulatory teams is essential. Documentation responsibilities include creating and maintaining SOPs, Batch Production Records (BPRs), protocols, and experimental reports in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP). The ideal candidate holds a BSc (with 2+ years experience) or MSc in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field, with demonstrated aseptic mammalian cell culture experience, preferably in an industry setting. Experience with insulinoma cell lines or stem cell-derived insulin-producing cells is valued. You are results-driven, thrive in fast-paced entrepreneurial environments, work collaboratively across disciplines, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
