Isar Aerospace is scaling from a high-performing engineering and production organization into a global space company. As production capacity increases, international expansion accelerates, and operations industrialize, the company needs to transform how it works at the same pace as its technology.
In this role, you will help accelerate Isar's transformation into a highly efficient, data-driven, and digitally enabled operations organization. You will identify bottlenecks, improve processes, drive adoption of new ways of working, and ensure that core digital systems—PLM, MES, ERP, AI, and analytics—create measurable business value across the full operations value chain.
This is a builder role focused on execution and impact, not coordination. You will combine analytical thinking with relentless execution, solve complex cross-functional problems, and turn ambiguity into results. Success is measured by improved operational performance, stronger governance, faster execution, and sustainable organizational change.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive high-impact operational transformation initiatives across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering with measurable business outcomes
- Lead complex cross-functional projects from problem identification through implementation, stakeholder alignment, and adoption
- Support stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement of PLM, MES, and ERP systems and connected business processes
- Establish governance structures, performance management mechanisms, KPI frameworks, and reporting processes
- Analyze operational bottlenecks and identify opportunities to improve throughput, quality, scalability, cost efficiency, and execution speed
- Define and improve how product, process, manufacturing, and supply chain data flows through PLM, MES, and ERP
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Enterprise IT & Data to strengthen the integrated digital thread across systems
- Drive change management for major transformation initiatives
- Support AI, automation, and analytics initiatives within Operations
You will work closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Enterprise IT & Data, and the CEO Office.
Required qualifications include first professional experience in operations, consulting, digital transformation, manufacturing, business systems, or project management. You should have strong interest in operational excellence, digital transformation, and enterprise systems. Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop pragmatic solutions, and drive implementation in fast-moving environments is essential. You must be comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and functions while managing competing priorities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with a hands-on execution mindset are required. Familiarity with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, engineering, or operational business processes is important. Interest in digital technologies, enterprise applications, PLM, MES, ERP, data analytics, AI, automation, and process improvement methodologies is expected. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without formal authority are critical. You should be comfortable operating in a dynamic, rapidly scaling environment with evolving priorities and imperfect information. Fluent English is required.
Bonus skills include experience with PLM, MES, ERP, manufacturing systems, operational analytics, or business process transformation; exposure to aerospace, defence, automotive, advanced manufacturing, or engineering-driven environments; knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies; experience supporting enterprise-scale transformation or change management; international project experience; and fluent German skills.
