Mirum Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on rare disease treatment, is seeking an Associate Director, Regional Access Specialist to lead regional market access and reimbursement strategy. This role bridges internal cross-functional teams and external healthcare provider (HCP) customers to ensure timely patient access to Mirum's FDA-approved products (LIVMARLI, CHOLBAM, CTEXLI, and future approvals) through the Mirum Access Plus (MAP) program.
Key responsibilities include: serving as a subject matter expert on reimbursement and access landscapes for cholestatic liver disease therapies; partnering with sales, market access, medical, and marketing teams on complex reimbursement challenges; providing targeted education to HCP office staff and Regional Account Managers on payer policies, prior authorization, appeals, and peer-to-peer processes; conducting account-level business reviews with high-volume HCP accounts; analyzing and sharing insights on access trends; supporting MAP Patient Navigators through training and call calibration; developing compliant, customer-centric educational materials; and troubleshooting HCP account access issues.
The role requires strong cross-functional leadership, collaboration, and influence without direct authority to solve complex cases. Candidate must live in the Midwest and be willing to travel up to 50% of the time. This is a strategic position requiring deep expertise in the orphan/rare disease reimbursement landscape and ability to navigate complex payer relationships and healthcare access challenges.
