Nimble Robotics is an AI robotics company building autonomous supply chains for fast, efficient commerce. The company has raised over $220M at a $1B+ valuation and formed a strategic alliance with FedEx to build a national network of autonomous warehouses. The founding team includes AI researchers from Stanford and Carnegie Mellon, with board members including Fei-Fei Li (Chief Scientist of AI at Google), Marc Raibert (founder of Boston Dynamics), and Sebastian Thrun (founder of GoogleX and Waymo).
Nimble's Business Operations team is embedded in daily operations, supporting both near-term execution and long-term planning through financial analysis and business decision-making. The team is lean and dynamic, supporting all functions including engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, fulfillment operations, service, construction, and sales.
As an Associate, Business Operations (AI Tooling), you will work with non-engineering teams across Nimble to identify manual, repetitive work and replace it with AI-powered tools. You will build and maintain internal tools for capacity planning, customer forecasting, pricing, billing, candidate sourcing, and KPI reporting. You will create Slack bots and assistants that answer questions using warehouse, robot, and financial data. You will support tools after launch by fixing issues, helping users, and tracking adoption. You will help the broader team leverage AI coding tools like Claude Code and maintain shared documentation. You will define and monitor KPIs, ensure data accuracy, and implement proper review and approval processes for anything touching billing, customer, or employee data. You will analyze data and bring recommendations to leadership.
The role is ideal for someone who wants to do business operations work while also building the technical tools that power it, using modern AI coding agents to move quickly with a small team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred; Mathematics, Engineering, or related technical field also considered
- 1–3 years of experience in software engineering, data/analytics, solutions engineering, or technical business operations
- Understanding of software structure (data types, functions, APIs, databases, version control); comfortable using AI agents to write code; comfortable with REST APIs, Git, and command line
- Examples of projects built with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex
- Familiarity with LLM APIs (prompting, tool calling, structured outputs)
- Strong analytical skills and good business judgment
- Strong written and verbal communication, including explaining technical topics to operations teams and executives
- Evidence of exceptional ability, especially in ambiguous environments
- Creative, intellectually curious, able to scale steep learning curves quickly
VALUE-ADDED EXPERIENCE:
- Building Slack bots, MCP servers, or other tools used by teams
- Web development and deployment (FastAPI, Postgres, React/TypeScript, Docker)
- Databricks, dbt, or BI tools such as Sigma
- Supply chain, warehousing, logistics, or hard-tech operations experience
- Internship or early experience in consulting, banking, or business operations
- GitHub profile or personal projects
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Travel to warehouses in Texas and New Jersey a few times per year
- Willing to work extended hours as needed
