Wealthsimple, Canada's leading financial innovator serving 4+ million Canadians with $155B+ in assets under administration, is seeking an Associate for Brokerage Operations focused on Corporate Actions and Dividends.
You will report to the Team Lead of Corporate Actions and own the daily processing of corporate actions and dividends across client accounts. This is precise, deadline-driven work that directly protects client assets. Your core responsibilities include:
- Process corporate actions and dividends daily, catching and resolving discrepancies before they impact clients
- Work with Operations Associates to maintain accurate records for client positions
- Serve as the team's subject matter expert on tax issues related to corporate actions and dividends
- Partner with Trade Desk, securities lending, management, and other teams to escalate and resolve critical issues
- Analyze the impact of new product launches on corporate actions and dividend processes
- Troubleshoot and proactively resolve reconciliation differences
- Use data analysis to identify inefficiencies and implement fixes
- Develop processes to increase back-office operational efficiency

REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years at a broker-dealer handling back-office corporate action processing for equities and options (CIRO-regulated dealer preferred)
- Experience working with CDS, DTC, OCC, and CDCC
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to work with large datasets—finding breaks in thousands of rows of position or entitlement data and explaining root causes
NICE TO HAVE:
- Progress toward or completion of CSC, DFOL, or similar industry courses
- Familiarity with programming, especially SQL
- Familiarity with Claude AI or Claude Code
