The company is headquartered in Fremont, CA, operates coast-to-coast, and is experiencing 5x year-over-year growth. This Assistant Operations Manager role owns second-shift outbound warehouse operations (Dry and Fresh/Frozen) at the Randolph fulfillment center in the Chicago area. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will directly manage a frontline team, driving daily throughput against targets while building leadership capability and ensuring operational safety. Key responsibilities include: owning end-to-end 2nd shift outbound execution with focus on Dry and Fresh/Frozen operations; maintaining distribution operations by enforcing policies and procedures; evaluating performance metrics to ensure quality and cost efficiency; managing frontline teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with coaching capability; ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local warehousing and shipping requirements; safeguarding warehouse operations and security; maintaining physical warehouse condition through layout planning and equipment management; achieving financial objectives through budgeting and variance analysis; and scheduling/assigning employees with follow-up on results. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 5+ years warehouse/fulfillment operations experience; 2+ years supervisory or management experience; Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience including KPI/productivity tracking; proficient computer skills (Excel, reporting tools); ability to work 2nd shift consistently. Preferred: bilingual English/Spanish; Six Sigma/Lean process improvement exposure; experience scaling a growing distribution center; OSHA or project management certification.
