Salary: USD 60,000 - 64,000 / annual
AvantStay is a venture-backed short-term rental platform delivering tech-enabled group travel experiences for millennials in the $100+ billion STR industry. As Assistant Area Manager in Panama City Beach, you will support the Area Manager in day-to-day operational activities across AvantStay properties in your designated market.
You will serve as a key operational leader, ensuring superior guest experiences through property audits, supply management, and responsive issue resolution. The role requires close proximity to properties and frequent in-market travel; you must reside within a short drive of the vacation rental properties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reporting to the Area Manager and performing assigned tasks; stepping in as market lead and personnel manager in the absence of the Area Manager and Senior Assistant Area Manager
- Serving as primary point of contact for property owners, communicating timely updates and reviewing owner distribution statements
- Acting as a bridge between property owners and internal AvantStay departments
- Maintaining AvantStay standards and metrics related to owner satisfaction
- Collaborating with in-market teams on training, coaching, and evaluating field operations personnel
- Monitoring and resolving guest and homeowner issues within designated timeframes
- Proactively identifying quality assurance concerns and assigning rectification duties
- Coordinating housekeeping and routine maintenance tasks (linens, furniture, troubleshooting cable/wifi)
- Ensuring appropriate inventory levels of consumables and linens
- Conducting regular property inspections for compliance with AvantStay standards
- Responding to guest and homeowner concerns via email, calls, texts, Slack, and tickets
- Frequent travel to properties within the designated area
- Participating in rotating on-call after-hours market support
Requirements:
- 2+ years of hospitality or customer-facing experience
- Vacation rental industry experience (preferred)
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Salesforce knowledge a plus
- Ability and availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedule
- Reliable car and valid driver's license
- Ability to spend majority of working time standing, walking, and driving
- Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, stoop, and occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs
- Excellent self-management, prioritization, and deadline-management skills
- Responsiveness via Slack and email
- Hospitality and/or real estate experience and ARM (Accredited Residential Manager) designation are a plus
