Tomorrow.io is a weather intelligence and climate resilience platform building a proprietary satellite constellation for atmospheric observation. The company combines satellite technology, AI forecasting, and analytics to deliver hyper-local weather insights for organizations and governments.
You will lead the Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) function, building and scaling manufacturing capability for next-generation spacecraft and payloads. This is a hands-on leadership role managing a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians responsible for assembling, integrating, and testing flight hardware.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring a manufacturing team through spacecraft assembly, integration, and test phases
- Developing integration strategies and manufacturing processes for efficient satellite subsystem assembly
- Building and maintaining production schedules while balancing quality, cost, and resource constraints
- Partnering with Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management
- Developing and implementing production standards including contamination control, ESD practices, work instructions, and nonconformance management
- Driving continuous improvement in production workflows, documentation, and operational processes
- Identifying manufacturing and integration risks and developing mitigation strategies
- Fostering a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement
You bring 15+ years of experience in AIT, manufacturing engineering, or integration of complex aerospace/satellite hardware systems. You have demonstrated experience leading technical teams in production environments, developing integration plans and spacecraft test plans from concept through production. You understand spacecraft operations including clean room protocols, contamination control, ESD practices, and aerospace manufacturing standards. You are experienced with production scheduling, engineering changes, nonconformance resolution, and configuration management. Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and ERP systems is expected. You communicate effectively across engineering and operations disciplines, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. You demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a hands-on leadership style focused on building scalable manufacturing capabilities.
