Hims & Hers, a leading health and wellness platform and NYSE-traded public company, is seeking an Area Manager for Compounding Facilities in Gilbert, Arizona. This role reports to the Director of Facilities and supports the Operations Engineering & Maintenance Department by overseeing predictive and preventive maintenance procedures for all laboratory equipment in the pharmacy.
You will provide comprehensive maintenance support across tablet presses, blenders, mills, hoods, tablet coaters, air compressors, electrical controls, and related equipment. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air compression, and HVAC systems; documenting maintenance data on predictive/preventive maintenance charts; conducting calibration and testing procedures to ensure accurate operation and regulatory compliance; and maintaining detailed calibration records and equipment logs.
You will identify facilities issues and develop ongoing strategies to chart trends and implement remedial actions from a predictive maintenance approach. You'll communicate all safety risks and potential losses to management, collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory affairs teams on documentation and validation reports, and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions to minimize downtime. You'll also identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings, participate in cross-functional improvement projects, and stay updated on industry trends and best practices in pharmaceutical equipment maintenance. All assets, parts, and work orders must be tracked in the CMMS system. This is a 24/7 operation requiring flexibility to work any shift.
The role involves working with hazardous drugs and requires wearing appropriate PPE (gloves, respiratory protection, gown). Medical approval is required to wear respiratory protection. Physical demands include walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100%, squatting/bending up to 20%, and lifting up to 50 lbs up to 80% of the time during twelve-hour shifts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 18 years of age with state-required proof of age
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Ability to safely lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project Management systems
- Ability to troubleshoot machinery problems independently
- Ability to document and interpret predictive/preventive maintenance data
- Effective written and spoken English communication (Spanish bilingual preferred)
- Physical capability to bend, stoop, reach overhead, climb ladders and stairs up to three flights, and work at heights using scissor or bucket lifts
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively
- Learning capacity for cross-functional training
- Adherence to company policies including attendance, confidentiality, safety, and integrity
- 3+ years of pharma industry experience in maintenance or engineering
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and operate advanced technical equipment
- Demonstrated ability to teach and motivate in technical, fast-paced environments
- 3+ years of formal leadership experience with direct reports
- Knowledge of and experience with PLC systems
- Knowledge of and experience with CMMS systems
- Formal training or certification in at least one of: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air compression, PLC systems, or HVAC trades
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or pharmacy with lab equipment
- 5+ years of electrical knowledge and electronic principles
- Advanced degree/training in engineering, maintenance, or related field
- Advanced formal training in lean or six sigma
