Salary: USD 80,000 - 120,000 / annual
Standard Bots is building robotic automation solutions to lower barriers to entry for real-world automation across new industries. The Applications Engineering team designs, installs, and supports the company's innovative 6-axis robot systems.
In this role, you will serve as a customer-facing problem-solver architecting robotic solutions. You'll partner with sales and customers to design solutions for novel applications, acting as a trusted technical resource throughout the sales cycle. You will own installations end-to-end, traveling to customer sites (up to 50% domestic travel) to install, program, and validate Standard Bots solutions in the field.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing robotic solutions in collaboration with sales, customers, and in-house engineering teams
- Traveling to customer sites to install, program, and validate solutions
- Creating technical enablement materials including sample code, application notes, and white papers
- Testing and refining new features and integrations as the product expands
- Contributing to marketing efforts by developing technical collateral
This is a hands-on role that combines mechanical, electrical, and software expertise. The factory floor is your office. This is not a role focused on training models or pushing code—it's about solving real-world automation problems using a mix of disciplines.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Hands-on experience across electrical, software, and mechanical systems (DC power, NPN vs. PNP, Python scripting, CAD tools like SolidWorks)
- Hands-on experience in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial automation environments
- Experience working in or alongside production or assembly environments with understanding of cycle times, uptime requirements, safety standards, and equipment integration
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Growth mindset and ability to pick up context quickly
- Bias toward user outcomes and execution with urgency
- Comfort thriving in fast-moving, high-expectation environments with ambiguity
