Slip Robotics is a B2B Robotics-as-a-Service company deploying autonomous loading and unloading robots at warehouse and fulfillment sites across North America. The Applications Engineer owns the complete site lifecycle from initial technical assessment through go-live and post-launch support.
Key responsibilities include conducting site assessments and translating customer workflows into validated solution designs, building and maintaining site configuration sheets, and configuring systems to specification. You will own the quality hand-off checklist before and during installation, execute on-site installation and commissioning, and deliver hands-on operator training to customer teams. Throughout the post-launch support window, you'll monitor performance, resolve early issues, and serve as the primary on-site point of contact, solving problems that enhance customer experience and system usage.
You'll document gaps in specification, configuration, or training, and feed lessons learned back into assessment, configuration, and training materials. Regular reporting of site status, risks, and outcomes to the Launch Planner is essential throughout each engagement.
The role requires 5-7+ years combining solutions engineering, industrial engineering, warehouse management, and field service or commissioning experience. You need high working knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling workflows, strong training and instructional skills, and proven ability to interface directly with customers on site. Demonstrated problem-solving ability, high communication skills, and comfort delivering feedback internally and externally are critical. Robotics, automation, or industrial equipment background is preferred. The position requires 50-75% travel, including international assignments.
