Applied Intuition is a $15 billion Series A company (founded 2017) powering physical AI for autonomous systems across automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining, and agriculture. The Tokyo office, established in 2019, is based in Otemachi and has grown rapidly with strategic relationships across major Japanese automotive OEMs. The team includes engineers from Google, Mobileye, TIER IV, Woven by Toyota, Tesla, and other leading companies.
As an Application Software Engineer, you will act as the bridge between customers and engineering teams, driving customer success through high-priority engagements. You will work closely with autonomy developers to ensure Applied Intuition's products deliver maximum impact for customers' autonomy initiatives. This role combines software expertise, domain knowledge, and execution-driven problem-solving.
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with customers to understand their development needs and use cases for autonomy, proposing effective product applications
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the product roadmap supports current and prospective customers
- Ensure customer needs are prioritized and supported by the broader engineering team
- Partner with the sales team to gather requirements through technical discussions and workshops
- Explore new product development areas informed by strategic understanding of the customer landscape
The company operates in-office 5 days per week from the Tokyo office, with flexibility for occasional remote work and schedule adjustments for personal commitments.
Requirements:
- Experience interacting with end-customers as an application engineer or developer
- Proficiency in Python or C++ software development
- Strong communication skills with a focus on solving customer problems
- Fluency in English and Japanese
Nice to have:
- Background in technical sales or application engineering for simulation products
- Experience with automotive OEMs or suppliers
- Prior work in autonomous vehicle development
- Prior work in software simulation
