Zinc is seeking an Analytics Lead to build and own the data foundation for the business. You'll report directly to the Head of Operations and work closely with Commercial Ops, Customer, and Tech teams to transform raw data into clean, reliable, trustworthy insights that drive decision-making across the organization. In this role, you'll be the deep specialist behind Zinc's data operations. While the broader Ops team handles business operations and general analysis, you'll own the technical data layer: data modelling, transformation, and the BI/reporting infrastructure that serves as the organization's single source of truth. Key responsibilities: - Partner with business leads to translate stated problems into clear, defined, reproducible metrics - Own the data modelling and transformation layer; build and maintain the BI/reporting layer (using Sigma) as the single source of truth - Write SQL and build data models hands-on, collaborating closely with Tech's data engineering team on the underlying warehouse - Maintain high data quality, catching and preventing issues that undermine reporting trust - Define marker points (thresholds for real trends/anomalies) on core metrics and proactively flag business leads when thresholds are crossed - Grow into managing a small team as the function scales in H1 2027 This starts as an individual contributor role with a clear path to people management as the data team grows. Requirements: - Strong SQL and data modelling experience, ideally in a BI/data warehouse context - Comfortable owning a BI tool (Sigma) as the organization's single source of truth - Track record turning ambiguous business questions into clean, reproducible data answers - Applied statistics expertise: confident distinguishing signal from noise, including trend and anomaly detection, cohort and retention analysis, and regression analysis to understand what drives metrics (e.g., which account signals predict churn, what moves turnaround times). Experience with forecasting or survival analysis is a plus. You know when a simple method is right and when data can't support stronger claims. - People management potential: ready and excited to grow a small team of analysts over the next year - Platform-minded: builds durable, reusable models rather than one-off pulls - Comfortable as a shared resource: prioritizes competing asks from multiple stakeholders fairly without a single dedicated backlog - Growth-oriented: genuinely motivated by the path toward leading a data function, not just executing tickets Ideal candidates come from backgrounds such as Analytics Engineer, Data and Analytics Lead, Data Engineer with strong analytics/BI experience, or Senior Data Analyst ready to move into data modelling ownership. Zinc is open to diverse backgrounds that bring transferable skills.
